happy-friday

Are you excited for the weekend? I sure am! A couple friends & I are going kayaking.  I’ve never been before so I’m a tad bit nervous, but I can’t wait to spend the afternoon on the water. What are your plans for the weekend?

ang-britt-beachthis girl is simply the best girlfriend a girl could ever ask for. Can’t wait for her trip to Vancouver!

austrian-snacks-brittlake-michigansweet-facesWe enjoyed sand pizza together compliments of my cute niece. Best sand pizza i’ve ever had;) It was such a treat to have these munchkins around the entire week. I already miss waking up to their giggles & little feet running around the house.

190-slasalleice-cream-datenew-buffalo-lunchange-happy-placeI’m feeling totally refreshed & inspired after spending a week back home. It was much more low-key & relaxing than previous trips back. The days were filled with bbq’s, picnics, Canada day cocktails, best friends, family, drinks, laughs, tears, cartoons, a day trip to Michigan, game nights with grandma, beachin’ it, so much good food, old colleagues, fireworks, American flags, hugs, ice cream, donuts, coffee, red, white & blue cupcakes, not enough sleep and so much love.

It’s kind of hard to believe that next time I will be back is Christmas…though time is flying, right? Can’t believe it’s mid-July! eeek!

I hope you all enjoyed your long holiday weekend!!

I’m back in Vancouver after a wonderful week home. One of my favourite parts of taking a trip is the flight. It’s the perfect time to reflect without any distractions & dream about all the things I want to accomplish & do. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day grind & forget about why I’m doing exactly what I do. It’s a constant battle for me. While away I had time to think about my approach & where I want to be in the next five years. I know I constantly preach “live for today” but it’s also important to have some sort of plan to help keep focused. Don’t you agree?

Yesterday was a bit insane with some very, very exciting news that has left me feeling afraid, happy, excited and overwhelmed all at once. I promise to post about it once I have all the details in place. Tonight I’ve got plans to get back into the action…. I will share some photos from the trip tomorrow so stay tuned:)

I hope you lovelies are having a great week!

ice-cream-weekend

Hi lovelies, quick update here. It’s pretty impossible for me not to be in a fantastic mood despite the hectic week I’ve had (finished up a branding project & my client is beyond happy!!). I’ve got two things on my mind now: wedding fun tomorrow + Chicago bound Sunday morning. I’ll be posting a little next week, but will try to disconnect from the internet just a bit to thoroughly enjoy some time off. As always, you can follow me along here on Instagram :)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with one too many scoops of ice cream!

(Can I just add that this girl is pretty awesome..) I woke up extra early Saturday to bake a cake, 3 layers of classic vanilla & chocolate goodness. Had no luck finding fresh flowers at the farmer’s market so picked a few from the garden – kind of cute, right? The rest of the gang brought delicious snacks & drinks… it was such a good night. I know I’ve been saying that a lot lately… but I just can’t get over how great Vancouver has been to me:)

ps: how about those hawks!!?! Yess! GO HAWKS! Happiest girl in Vancouver, I’m sure of it! Chicago in 5 days – eaaaaaa:)
